About Me

As a clinical psychologist, I endeavor to listen closely to my patients’ desires, fears, and needs, to identify and build upon their strengths, and to foster healing. In the course of my training, I have worked in academic medical centers, college counseling centers, and community mental health clinics. I have treated children and adults as individuals, couples, in groups, and as families.

My therapeutic orientation is grounded in psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, existential, and relational therapy, and is informed by cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and family systems approaches. I draw from both empirical and theoretical approaches to understanding the human condition, and offer a highly individualized psychotherapy to each of my patients, couples, and families. At the core, I believe a strong sense of fit between therapist and patient is the most important element in an effective psychotherapeutic relationship. I find myself growing and changing with each and every person I work with.

I am a part-time Instructor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a staff psychologist in the Child Outpatient Department at Cambridge Health Alliance, where I also completed my Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Psychology. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from City College of New York (CUNY). My qualitative dissertation examining experiences of grief and mourning among gay men who are long-term HIV/AIDS survivors won the Kenneth and Mamie Clark Dissertation Award.

In addition, I have an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan and I studied Literature as an undergraduate at Harvard. I have also worked in journalism and in human rights NGOs in the U.S. and abroad. These experiences meaningfully inform my therapeutic philosophy and approach.

I use she/her pronouns, and I offer therapy in English and in Hebrew.
